I was offered to stay in this hotel during a conference. The hotel is 15 minutes by bus from the railway station and 10 minutes by tram from the city centre - good location! But it is on the main street and together with a disco on Friday night, it was not so quite for sleeping. Beds were comfortable. The bathroom looked quite old and used.||What I expected to be in the room and I missed it, was a hair-dryer. It was even not possible to borrow it at the reception.

So, Red Star. Easy to find. Close to the centre, it takes 7 minutes by tram to get there. The rooms are simple, but nice. Clean bedsheet and bathroom. ||Staff is extremely helpful and really friendly. They will always find you a way to spend free time. You can also spend time with them at the reception and have a great talk or play badminton outside the building 🙂 ||There's no typical common room, but they arranged really nice "common area" next to the reception (great coffee, really good WiFi connection, you can easily download stuff, eg. movies). ||It's super cheap, so you can spend more in bars and cafes.||||I miss this place somewhat. Hasta la vista Red Star 😉

I was staying there for 3 weeks during the summer school at university. The room was comfortable enough, just bath room was pritty old and used.||There is laundry (24/7), bar, canteen, shop.||Location is good, you can reach the city centre by tram or bus in 10 minutes.||Very reasonable price if you need to stay in Bratislava for long period and you have limited budget.

We were there last year and we're going to come back ! Staff was very helpful and friendly. maybe hostel is not in the heart of the old city, but the price is really low! and we think that is better to keep more money for parties etc.:) to the city centre by tram is just few minutes or if prefer U can walk too .we was planned to stay just for a weekend, but we stayed longer...so we recommend RED STAR! 🙂

This hostel doesn't hide the fact that its situated in some grim soviet-era concrete housing blocks. The place is dirty and has poor facilities but I appreciated the fact that they made this clear from the start. Its depressingly bleak and situated pretty far away from anywhere useful but if staying here will save you money its ok so long as you don't mind long walks/paying tram fares. Aside from some rude and useless reception staff there's nothing much wrong with the place.

The building is huge and it's in really east europe communism style. During the year it is student's dormitory, but you can meet there many slovakian young people in summer. Outside is big meadow - people are tanning, play volleyball, basketball. Staff make some grill parties. I reccommend the small cafe-restaurant for students in the next building. ||Definetelly worth to visit. Lots of green space 🙂

Very nice hostel, quite close to the centre. They have very freindly staff that will help you with every problem/question about the place and about the city. Rooms are basic but clean and brite. comfy beds. I'd definitely recommend the place !
